Warning:
This makes a LOT of cookies. Unless a LOT of cookies is what you
are after, you should half this recipe. Otherwise you will have
a LOT of cookeis. (get the idea?)
2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal**
24 oz. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 oz. Milk Chocolate bar (grated)
4 oz. Dark Chocolate bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
OPTIONAL
3 cups chopped nuts
Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; mix
together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add
chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place
two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375
degrees. Makes 112 cookies.
** measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a very coarse powder.
Note: For the overly observant, yes this is
the recipe from the famed "Neiman Marcus Cookie Story"
that spams your inbox once per month if you are lucky. Yes I did
try it because it sounded reasonable and I was in the mood one
day. Yes it turned out pretty good. With my modifications it is
even better - so try it!
