My new neighbor gave
us a plate of these (and later on the recipe). The rest of my
family, sadly, didn't get very many once I started eating them.
Thanks Marie!
Ingredients
1 stick margarine (or 1/2 cup cooking oil)
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 cups quick cooking oats
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions
1. In a two-quart glass bowl melt the margarine in the microwave.
Stir in sugar and cocoa until moistened, then stir in milk.
2. Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes, then stir. Microwave on HIGH
for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the mix to come to a hard
boil and rise up the sides of the glass bowl.
3. Add the vanilla, then stir in chocolate chips until they are
almost melted. Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixed.
4. Immediately spread into a 9" x 13" pan that has
been sprayed with Pam. Allow to cool for about 2 hours. Cut into
squares. Brownies will be firmer, and set up faster, if stored
in refrigerator.
